Gone with the Pain
Daily Life February 2nd, 2004People will write in to LifeTeen.com and ask for prayers. So I pray for them. It was heart-wrenching this morning reading through the intentions:
Pray for my friend who is addicted to cocaine.
Pray for my Dad, I haven’t talked to him in 17 years.
Pray for a friend who broke his neck and is paralyzed from the chest down.
Pray for my best friend who died in a car accident last night.
Pray for me, that I can adopt a daughter.
Pray for my friend, he is in jail for killing two people.
So I prayed hard. I didn’t know what else to do. I mean, I really prayed for them, with all of my heart, all day.
I remember the pain of high school. Friends losing their dignity…getting drunk, sleeping with lots of people. Friends getting raped. Friends going to jail. The mess was endless. It was sad.
Thinking back to those years has reminded me how different my life is now. I still go through junk, but I’ve grown up and out of the drama. My core group of friends are responsible, stable people with a zeal for life. With a solid group of friends, I don’t have to patch together the mess of my own life. Then I am able to give more energy to everyone else.
