Cool Custom 1970 Dodge Super Bee
Cars / Rides / Customs April 16th, 2009Let’s stop for a moment and ignore the political and economical consequences of global oil consumption. Let’s also forget the uncertain future of Detroit’s Big Three and the staggering price tag of the government’s bailouts.
Now let’s admire a beautiful custom 1970 Dodge Super Bee called The Mutant Bee.
What did they do? They shaved door handles, side marker lights, emblems, windshield wipers, and antenna. They tweaked the suspension and stuffed big rims under the fenders. The “halo” headlights are something I’ve never seen before–but they look cool. The recessed grill that surrounds the headlights are black diamond-shape pattern, a subtle upgrade from the original vertical slats. It looks like front air dam beneath the headlights is completely custom. The custom details are everywhere on this car. I don’t know much about the 1970 Super Bee, but after looking at photos of the original car, it’s clear that every change was for the better.
…but it would be nice to be able to have been around in 1970 to buy an original for around $3,000.
