I caught the first two games of the conference semi-finals against the Spurs during classes last week. Thanks to the miracles of technology, half of the laptops in my class were lit up with the game. I’m sure from the point-of-view of the professor in the front of the class room, it looked like any other day of students scribbling notes and clicking through slides on their laptops. But from my point-of-view in the back of the classroom, it looked more like a sports bar with a dozen screens synchronized with the slashing action of the game.

Our case discussion that followed Game 2 was lively and packed with emotion. The professor’s confidence grew because she believed she was leading a particularly stimulating discussion, when in reality she was feeling the spill over of emotion from sports fans that were stuck in a class room during the playoffs.

This blog is over…time to get back to preparing for tonight’s Finance final.
